Sauna rocks included with every heater

Sauna Installation

We install saunas. It is not a side job we do once in a while, it is regular work for us, and that hands-on experience is behind everything we build and sell.

Where we install

We are based in Listowel, Ontario, and we install across southwestern Ontario. If you are not certain your place is in range, get in touch and we will confirm your area before you plan around it.

What installation involves

Every sauna is a little different, but a typical installation covers the same steps.

  • Site and base. An outdoor sauna needs a firm, level base that drains well. We look at where the sauna is going and make sure the ground under it is right before anything is set down.
  • Placing the sauna. The room or cabin is set in position, levelled, and made weathertight where it meets the outdoors.
  • The heater. The Procraft heater is mounted on the wall, the rocks are loaded, and the controls are set up. All four of our heaters are CSA approved and built for indoor or outdoor rooms.
  • Electrical. An electric sauna heater runs on its own dedicated circuit. The wiring is done by a licensed electrician to the heater rating and to your local electrical code. We work in with the electrician so the heater is ready to run.
  • Handover. We show you how to run it, how to get steam off the rocks, and how to keep it in good shape.

Why it matters that we install every day

A company that installs saunas regularly runs into the real-world questions long before you do. Where water drains, how a base holds up over a winter, which heater size actually suits a room, how to finish an outdoor sauna so it lasts. That is the kind of knowledge you cannot get from a spec sheet, and it is baked into the products and guides on this site.

Planning your install

Two things are worth sorting out early. First, the base, because an outdoor sauna needs solid, level, well-drained ground under it. Second, the power, because the heater needs its own circuit run by a licensed electrician. Our guides on sauna electrical requirements and choosing a heater size cover both.

Installation is quoted job by job, because the base, the access and the electrical run are different every time. Tell us where the sauna is going and what you have there now, and we will tell you what is involved. Reach us on the contact page.

Every Procraft electric sauna heater is CSA approved, designed in Canada, and covered by a 5-year limited warranty. Always follow the heater manual and use a licensed electrician for the wiring.
