An electric sauna is a traditional sauna heated by an electric element under a bed of rocks. You set a temperature, set the timer, and the room is ready when you are. No fire to tend, no wood to store, and you can still pour water on the rocks for steam. It is the most common choice for a home sauna, and it is what we make.
The one requirement is electrical. A sauna heater runs on its own dedicated circuit, sized to the heater rating and wired by a licensed electrician to your local code. Do not plan on running one from a general-purpose outlet. See sauna electrical requirements.
Heater size follows the interior volume of the room, with extra power for outdoor rooms, lots of glass and cold climates. Our sizing guide walks through the arithmetic, and when you are between two sizes you go up.
